Woman-Owned Skin Care Studio Signs Lease for 3CDC Space

Lunar Beauty Bar to Relocate to Keyer Row Development

CINCINNATI (August 9, 2024) – Lunar Beauty Bar, a woman-owned and operated skin care studio, recently signed a lease for a 995-square-foot space in Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC)’s $8.5 million Keyer Row development. Located at 1221 Main Street, Lunar joins a small beauty hub that includes neighboring businesses Lash Experience by Marie, Thee MakeUp Room and the Loc & Braid Bar.

Originally from Columbus, owner Emily Zook moved to Cincinnati in 2019 to help open another skin care business. She intended to move back later the same year but ended up falling in love with Over-the-Rhine (OTR) and the surrounding community very quickly.

“I love being able to walk everywhere,” Zook said. “There’s always something going on, and I literally live, work and play all in the same place. Staying involved and present in OTR and Downtown Cincinnati is especially important to me.”

Having struggled with severe acne herself, Zook made it her mission to become an acne specialist, officially earning her estheticians license from The Spa School of Columbus in 2012. Today, in addition to treating acne and rosacea, Zook’s services include customized facials, dermaplaning, red light therapy, lips, brows, tinting and more. Beginning Oct. 1, Lunar will also begin offering permanent makeup.

“The range of beauty services offered at Keyer Row just steps from one another really make this little hub a unique one-stop shop for those pursuing self-care or looking for a day of pampering,” said Lindzie Gunnels, Director of Commercial Leasing with 3CDC. “We’re excited to see a fourth woman-owned business open in this development.”

Playing into the name ‘Lunar,’ the skin care studio has an ethereal vibe, with eclectic décor throughout. Zook worked with Urban Sites and City Studios on the design and buildout of the space, in addition to Ink & Hammer and The Cincy Wallflower, Rebekah Del Matto, a local muralist.

Zook will begin seeing clients in her new space by appointment only on Monday, Aug. 12, with plans for a grand re-opening and four-year anniversary celebration set for Saturday, Aug. 24 beginning at 12 PM.
