Schematic design work for the interior of the building is now complete, while schematic design work for the park, which includes architectural plans and proposed scopes of work for MEP systems based on exploratory work that was completed this summer, is now in progress. Schematic design work for the building’s façade is also nearing completion. A coordinated site review meeting has been scheduled for mid-October to bring representatives from every City department together with local utility companies to discuss plans to vacate Elm Street between Fifth and Sixth Street. They will also discuss plans for streetscape upgrades around the Convention Center and planned 2-acre park.

Finally, as part of 3CDC’s commitment to maximizing diversity and inclusion in the project, 3CDC, the construction management team, and the African American Chamber of Commerce recently hosted an event for minority-owned (MBE), women-owned (WBE), and disadvantaged (DBE) subcontractors. Information was shared about the project schedule and potential bidding opportunities for subcontractors. Over 100 interested subcontractors registered for the event.
