Poolside Taco Bar Adjacent to Ziegler Park Set to Open in 3CDC Space
CINCINNATI (July 26, 2023) – Owners of two Over-the-Rhine staples, Liberty’s Bar & Bottle and The Pony, and the restaurateurs behind another new concept opening at 1220 Vine Street later this year, Garth Lieb and Tom Stephen, will celebrate the grand opening of their new taco bar, Yoli’s, tomorrow from 4 – 11 PM. Adri DeFisher, the duo’s first hire at Liberty’s, has also joined the owner/operator team and will run the restaurant’s cocktail program.
Located at 213 Woodward Street in Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC)’s Willkommen project, the new eatery is situated in the recently expanded Ziegler Park, making it a convenient stop for pool-goers and visitors to Main Street alike.
“We love that it’s across the street from the pool and in the park, yet still seems part of Main Street,” Lieb said. “We’re excited to bring another top-quality casual drinking and dining option to the Main Street entertainment district – an area we’ve come to know and love since we opened Liberty’s in 2014.”
Yoli’s will feature a 15-seat horseshoe bar surrounded by table seating, as well as two outdoor patios – one for dining and one for shuffleboard and other outdoor activities. The restaurant will be open early during pool season, serving coffee, breakfast burritos and other grab-and-go items, and will otherwise be a gathering space to catch a game or simply enjoy the outdoor space.
“The menu will focus on customizable tacos, burritos and salads with a rotating selection of proteins,” Lieb said. “We’ll also have some permanent menu items, based on fan favorites, and grab-and-go options to make it convenient for those who want to head to the park or pool.”
Aside from good eats, Yoli’s menu will include fun, but well-done beverages like margaritas and cocktails, as well as a limited, but well-curated offering of beer and wine.
The Drawing Department, the architecture and design firm behind Bocca/Sotto, Ghost Baby, Revel and other Downtown spaces, also completed the design of Yoli’s. It will be a relaxed, fun and colorful atmosphere where patrons can kick back, unwind and enjoy excellent food.
“We’re really focused on activating Main Street with new businesses and providing programming at the Ziegler Park expansion, so we feel like Yoli’s is the ideal concept for this location ,” said Lindzie Gunnels, Commercial Leasing Manager with 3CDC, “We believe Yoli’s is going to add to the energy and excitement in this area and will be a great amenity for visitors to Ziegler Park and Pool, as well as those spending time on Main Street.”
After tomorrow’s grand opening, the restaurant will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 11 PM, as well as Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to midnight.
While Yoli’s is adjacent to Ziegler Park, it is technically part of 3CDC’s Willkommen project, a collaboration with Model Group. The $51 million mixed-use, scattered-site development yielded 163 apartments (88 affordable to those making 60-80% of the Area Median Income) and 19,500 square feet of commercial space. Yoli’s will be opening in one of four new infill buildings developed as part of the project, which also included the renovation of 16 historic buildings.
