Broomball Madness Set to Sweep Fountain Square

CINCINNATI (January 5, 2016) – What better way to spend an after work happy hour than with an ice cold (or hot) beverage and some major HGC Construction Broomball fun at Fountain Square! From now until February, sports fans across the city are invited down to the U.S. Bank Ice Rink for an evening of live, action-packed Broomball matches. Broomball games take place Monday through Thursday from 6:00pm to 10:00pm and are FREE for all spectators.
For those unfamiliar with the sport, Broomball combines elements of soccer and hockey. Players wear gym shoes instead of skates, and use broom-shaped sticks to pass the ball around the ice and score goals. Announcers and referees facilitate each game, while the Fifth Third Bank LED Video Board transforms into a larger-than-life broadcast of the on-ice competition.
Come cheer for your favorite teams or grab a snack and take in the game from the comfort of Fountain Square’s new Lykins Energy Solutions Warming Tent. Fountain Square’s concessions offer everything from popcorn and candy, to nachos and Queen City Sausages. In addition to the aforementioned tasty fare, fans may also purchase hot drinks, cold beer, and various Coca-Cola products.
Please note that the U.S. Bank Ice Rink will be closed to skaters while the matches take place. Special thanks to our league sponsor, HGC Construction. We’d also like to thank Cincinnati Sports Leagues. Visit www.MyFountainSquare.com for more information or to add this series of events to your smartphone.
