THE ANNIE
Construction crews at The Annie continue to make significant progress. The building located at 216-18 W 12th Street recently received electricity. Permanent HVAC has been installed, as well. Additionally, some walls have been painted, while others will be painted in the coming weeks. Flooring installation will begin next week. Bathroom tile is set to be laid first, and wood flooring will follow. The building located at 210-14 W 12th Street is also coming along nicely. Plaster repair is nearing completion and mechanical, electric, and plumbing (MEP) rough-in work is ongoing.
CINCINNATI CONVENTION CENTER
Schematic design work for the interior of the building is now complete, while schematic design work for the park, which includes architectural plans and proposed scopes of work for MEP systems based on exploratory work that was completed this summer, is now in progress. Schematic design work for the building’s façade is also nearing completion. A coordinated site review meeting has been scheduled for mid-October to bring representatives from every City department together with local utility companies to discuss plans to vacate Elm Street between Fifth and Sixth Street. They will also discuss plans for streetscape upgrades around the Convention Center and planned 2-acre park.
Finally, as part of 3CDC’s commitment to maximizing diversity and inclusion in the project, 3CDC, the construction management team, and the African American Chamber of Commerce recently hosted an event for minority-owned (MBE), women-owned (WBE), and disadvantaged (DBE) subcontractors. Information was shared about the project schedule and potential bidding opportunities for subcontractors. Over 100 interested subcontractors registered for the event.
CONVENTION HEADQUARTERS HOTEL
3CDC assisted Portman Holdings in applying for a $40 million tax credit award from the state’s Transformational Mixed-Use Development Program. Awards are expected to be announced later this fall. If awarded, this will provide critical gap financing for the project.
FINDLAY COMMUNITY CENTER
In early September, several in-person engagement sessions were held, and the community was surveyed to gather input on different elements of the reimagined community center and parks. Topics included playground features, play fields and courts, aquatics facilities, the roller rink and gym, as well as classes and programming and the overall design. Including these sessions, there have been 43 total engagement opportunities. 3CDC and the project design team are reviewing the community’s feedback to see how it can be incorporated into the design. If you would like receive project updates, please email FindlayRec@3CDC.org.
