Award-Winning Craft Barbecue Now Available in OTR
CINCINNATI (September 28, 2023) – Just in time for football season, Cincinnati native Brendan “Bee” Hague will celebrate the grand opening of Over-the-Rhine’s Bee’s Barbecue later this afternoon. Located at 1403 Vine Street, a space being leased from Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC), this is the restaurant’s second location, having originated in Madisonville in 2021.
“As I’ve said before, it’s really cool to be center stage in OTR,” Hague said. “We’ve put a lot of hard work into opening on Vine Street and I’m pretty excited to finally have the opportunity to bring Bee’s Barbecue to a bigger audience. It’s been a long time coming.”
A casual neighborhood hangout, Bee’s is a prime location to catch a sporting event, meet a friend, or simply grab food and drinks. Known best for their smoked brisket, the menu also features pulled pork, turkey breast, ribs and more. It even features jackfruit – a great option for those who follow a vegetarian diet.
“Brendan’s excitement and dedication to bringing Bee’s Barbecue to Over-the-Rhine has been energizing,” said Lindzie Gunnels, Commercial Leasing Manager with 3CDC. “He’s truly committed to delivering top-notch, classic barbecue staples, and we’re excited that he chose to open his second location in OTR. The list of dining options in OTR continues to grow more diverse, with Bee’s adding yet another unique restaurant to the neighborhood.”
The new location’s menu differs slightly from that of the Madisonville location, featuring a variety of sandwiches as permanent menu items rather than specials. From the Bowling Alley BLT to the Brisket Philly, there’s a sandwich for everyone, served on an amoroso roll and best paired with creamy mac & cheese, cole slaw, sweet honey cornbread or another of Bee’s delicious sides.
The restaurant’s full menu will be available daily until 9 PM, with an alternative bar menu available from 9 PM to close. For late night folks and those just getting off work after a long day, the bar menu will feature items like wings & fries, deep fried deviled eggs, pickle dip with wavy chips and a barbecue charcuterie board.
Bee’s Barbecue will be open from 4 PM to 1 AM today and most other days, opening at noon on Sundays for Bengals games. The restaurant will be closed on Tuesdays.
