August 2023 Updates

CONVENTION HEADQUARTERS HOTEL

Portman Holdings is in the process of applying for tax credits through the state’s Transformational Mixed-Use Development program. If awarded, these credits will provide critical gap financing for the project.

CINCINNATI CONVENTION CENTER

The Duke Energy Convention Center remains in schematic design for both the building renovations and the two-acre park and outdoor convention space. The design and construction team completed exploratory work to assess the state of the building’s existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and roof systems to further understand the scope of needed repairs. These findings will be incorporated into the schematic design drawings. Upon completion, the construction management team will price the schematic design drawings to provide an updated estimate of renovation costs.

As part of 3CDC’s commitment to maximize diversity and inclusion in the project, 3CDC, the construction management team, and the African American Chamber of Commerce are hosting an open house for minority-owned (MBE), women-owned (WBE), and disadvantaged (DBE) subcontractors on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 5:30 PM. Information will be shared about project schedule and bidding opportunities

FINDLAY COMMUNITY CENTER

3CDC is hosting several community engagement sessions in September to garner feedback on various elements of the community center and park areas. There will be two in-person events and one survey to allow community members to choose the opportunity that best accommodates their needs. Each session will cover the same information. The in-person sessions will be held at the OTR Rec Center (1715 Republic St.) on Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 6-7:30 PM and on Sunday, Sept. 17 from 11 AM – 12:30 PM. The survey will be available on the Findlay Community Center’s webpage beginning Sept. 13. If you would like receive project updates, please email FindlayRec@3CDC.org.

Crews continue to make steady progress at The Annie. Drywall installation is underway in the building at 216-218 W. 12th Street and will continue for several weeks. Permanent HVAC will also be installed in the coming weeks and will allow for the installation of finishes, such as wood flooring. Progress at 210-214 W. 12th Street is following closely behind, with HVAC, electric, and plumbing rough-ins having recently started. Drywall installation is on track to begin later this fall.
