3CDC Signs Leases for Both Street-Level Spaces in Gosling Flats

Silent Wave Tattoo Officially Open, The Artsy Alien Coming Soon

CINCINNATI (October 4, 2022) – Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC) has signed leases with two businesses for the street-level commercial spaces in the organization’s Gosling Flats development at the corner of 15^th and Race streets.

Silent Wave Tattoo has moved into the 718-square-foot space at 28 W. 15^th Street, while the Artsy Alien – another tattoo parlor – will occupy the 545-square-foot space at 24 W. 15th Street.

Randall Croley El (better known as “Seven”) is a painter and tattoo artist whose career spans more than 20 years. He founded his first walk-in studio in 2009 on Main Street, and in 2017 he brought a by-appointment-only version of Silent Wave Tattoo to life. While he primarily focuses on large scale and black and gray artistry, Croley El’s work also includes high contrast color, typically with cultural and religious influences.

A lot of people know him in the neighborhood. At one point he was the only tattoo artist located in OTR, and when he was looking for his newest space, he knew wanted to stay in the area. “I’ve been on Main, 13^th, Walnut and now 15^th Street. Every street has its character, which is cool,” he said, adding that he’s excited to open his doors.

Kassidy Huck, owner of Artsy Alien, is a seasoned tattoo artist, as well, having worked on her craft for just under a decade. Huck decided to venture out into the world of tattooing seven years ago. A fan of bold and colorful, she combined her love of colors and artistry to find her unwavering style early on. “I’ve always wanted to pursue an art-based career,” she said. “I’ve always loved tattoos, and combining the two just worked.”

The two parlors are located next door to each other, but specialize in very different styles that will be offered to their respective clients. “We’re excited to be partnering with artists like Randall and Kassidy,” said Lindzie Gunnels, Senior Commercial Leasing Officer for 3CDC. “We think these spaces at Gosling are ideal for them. The street art on this block of 15th Street is a symbolic reflection of the artistry they’ll bring to their clients.”

Huck is finishing up designing her ‘70s-themed space and planning for an opening in the coming weeks, though she will operate by appointment only. Silent Wave opened in late September and will host an event that evokes a laid-back atmosphere reflective of his shop. It will operate mostly by appointment but will also offer walk-in traffic when possible.

Gosling Flats is the redevelopment of two historic buildings that were built in the 1890s. The two buildings were redeveloped to include 11 residential condo units above two commercial spaces. The parlors will be located, across the street from Maize and next door to B&A Street Kitchen.
